Ocean Import or Export Coordinator

Who Our Client Is:
Our client is a global logistics company committed to meeting the evolving needs of international trade through customized solutions and seamlessly integrated technology. Their services include ocean freight consolidation and forwarding, bonded warehousing, customs clearance, vendor consolidation, distribution, and other value-added logistics offerings.

Job Duties:


  • Manage end-to-end international ocean shipments, from booking at origin to final delivery.
  • Communicate shipment requirements to carriers and ensure they meet handling standards.
  • Review and process customer and carrier documentation for accuracy and compliance.
  • Input data into systems and resolve potential service issues proactively.
  • Address customer inquiries about billing, tracking, and shipment status.
  • Track and trace shipments; assist in locating delayed cargo.
  • Prepare operational reports and present to team as needed.
  • Support rate quoting and provide standard-to-complex quotes.
  • Maintain detailed customer profiles and service preferences.
  • Generate invoices and confirm accuracy with clients.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


    What You Need to Have:

    • Strong understanding of logistics procedures and INCO terms.
    • Experience with tracking and tracing international shipments.
    • Knowledge of carriers, providers, and global supply chain services.
    • Effective communication regarding service delays and resolutions.
    • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, team-oriented environments.
    • Comfortable preparing operational reports and summaries.
    • High proficiency in CargoWise systems.
    • Fluency in English (spoken and written).


      Qualifications:

      • 2 5 years of international freight forwarding experience, primarily in ocean freight.


        Work Environment:

        • This is an on-site role located in Midtown Manhattan.
        • Remote work is not permitted.
