Job Description Multimodal Transportation Manager ( **Job
Number:**210721 ) Advance/Implement Action Plan for Safer Streets
(APSS): In 2019, Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms announced a two-year,
$5 million plan to bring accelerated safety redesigns to Atlantas
streets, identifying more than 20 city corridors for rapid
implementation of pedestrian and bicycle improvements. The
Multimodal Transportation Manager will continue to oversee progress
of this project and identify opportunities for future APSS phases.
Conduct Transportation Studies for Small Areas & Corridors:
Multimodal Transportation Manager will lead or participate in the
development of small area and corridor transportation studies
throughout the City and assist various neighborhood associations
and NPUs with the development of transportation studies. * Mid- to
senior-level professional with public and/or private sector project
management experience. * American Institute of Certified Planners
(AICP), Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Professional
Transportation Planner (PTP) certification/licensure. *
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with the principles and
practices related to multimodal facility planning, design and
operation, including the *NACTO Urban Design Guides* and the
*AASHTO Guide for the Development of Bicycle Facilities.* * Strong
understanding and commitment to equity-driven processes in all
plans, projects and programs. * Working knowledge of federal,
state, and local laws, regulations, and requirements pertaining to
safety, public health and urban transportation policies, programs,
and plans. * Experience or familiarity with technical research and
planning studies related to transportation. * Experience collecting
data from a variety of sources for use in planning programs and
projects; ability to analyze research data and prepare preliminary
recommendations, and to compile and synthesize information into
written summaries and reports. * Experience reviewing plans and
environmental documents for consistency with planning policies and
objectives. * Ability to draft clear and concise reports that
document research procedures and present research results and
recommendations including the preparation, analysis, and
interpretation of maps, charts, and tables. * Experience supporting
committees and/or working groups, including assisting with the
preparation of agendas, reports, and meeting summaries. *
Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both
orally and in writing. * Effective time management and
organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
in a fast-paced environment; ability to exercise good judgment and
work independently. * Experience establishing and maintaining
productive working relationships with local, state, and federal
transportation agencies, government officials, community groups,
non-profit and community-based organizations, and the general
public. * Demonstrated ability to maintain tracking and reporting
systems using spreadsheets, databases, and other software. *
Demonstrated computer software proficiency using various programs
from the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and ArcGIS,
Synchro or other data modeling tools, conducting research on the
Internet, and other PC-based applications.
**Qualifications****Minimum Qualifications Education and
Experience:** Bachelors degree in environmental management,
business, real estate, public administration, civil engineering,
urban forestry, or a related field. 3-5 years of related experience
and at least 1 year of managerial and supervisory experience is
required. **Preferred Education and Experience:**Masters degree in
city/urban/regional planning , environmental management, business,
public administration, civil engineering, urban forestry or a
related field and 5 years of related experience, and 2 years of
project management and supervisory or managerial experience.
