What you'll do
The CVN-IQ data analyst will play a key role in the advancement of
CVN's research and innovation initiatives. Advancing the field of
military and veteran mental health is a top priority for CVN and
the Data Analyst will assist the Director of CVN-IQ by providing
operational data analytic support for this new arm of CVN.
Specifically you will:
- Access, download/upload and manages internal and external
databases, electronic health records (EHRs), and data
files
- Clean and deidentify data as needed, assess data quality and
modify methodology and approach accordingly
- Query complex data bases (including EHR), formats and extract
data and aggregate for secondary analysis
- Conduct analyses to answer research/data questions from
stakeholders and CVN leadership at the behest of the Director
CVN-IQ
- Develop methodology and research plan to conduct complex
analyses to address operational issues. Independently conduct data
analytic tasks and interpret and communicate the results
effectively to a range of audiences
- Draft detailed reports and presentations, including graphics,
charts, tables and data visualization techniques and programs use
other descriptive and explanatory tools to effectively communicate
results
- Build, modify and interpret data dashboards.
- Create PowerPoint presentations and reports in MS Word or PDF
related to analysis projects. Provide recommendations.
- Work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary team to support
internal research initiatives & research grants
What's required
- BS or MS in data analytics/data science or related field
- 2+ years relevant full-time experience in data
analytics
- Experience with electronic health record data
- Highly proficient in SQL and data analytic, presentation
software including Power BI, Tableau, Sisense, Python, R, MPlus,
Excel, SPSS, STATA, SAS.
- Ability to access and manipulate a range of data bases, with an
understanding of basic structure, function, and
architecture
- Knowledge of coding, data management and analytic strategies.
Ability to work with large data sets, to clean and merge, assess
disaggregate
- Ability to interpret data dictionaries & identify correct data
fields in relation to data queries & research questions
- Ability to perform data transformation & account for missing
data in accordance with industry standards
- Knowledge of social science methodologies, i.e. factor analysis
(EFA/CFA) Structural equation modeling, ANCOVA, ANOVA, (general
linear models) multivariate linear and logistic regression

- Highly skilled at interpreting & graphically presenting data in
user friendly formats for expert to general audiences
- Understanding of regulatory requirements & IT
security/assurance protocols & practices
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Office Suite and Adobe
- Some travel required. (4-6x year)
