Job Description Overview: IT Data Services is responsible for back office pricing as well as time series data for trading/modeling/analysis. We work closely with various front office groups, including quantitative analysts, helping them leverage existing data and delivering new data sets. We also work closely with other departments within Management & Control to ensure the accuracy and best practices in security valuation, compliance, risk management, and other operational areas. Responsibilities: The Data Analyst will regularly interact with users of the firms financial data, including Trading, Global Research, Middle Office, Risk, and Compliance. He/She will work with our users to access series of interest in firms internal databases, including a third party tick database. He /She will answer questions on data availability, quality, and content. The Data Analyst will complete operational tasks such as creating new securities, processing corporate actions, and loading/verifying historical pricing. The Data Analyst will work with our offshore Data Operations team to oversee their processes, which include cross checking, verifying and updating security and economic data. He/She will serve as an escalation point for questions from this team. He/She will also perform project work in addition to regular/ongoing responsibilities. Examples include verifying the integrity of large datasets, creating and loading history for several new instruments or macroeconomic series, developing new data quality checks, and integrating new data sources. For new projects or data-related production changes, the Data Analyst will determine detailed specifications and resource requirements and coordinate prioritization and approval with other groups. Will test content for proper QA and review/approve for production release. Job Requirements: BA/BS with a strong academic background Strong problem-solving and organizational skills are a must, along with meticulous attention to detail and a goal-oriented work approach in a fastpaced work environment Requires strong communication skills, proven ability to plan and execute projects, communicating goals and progress as well as any problems Experience working with Bloomberg, Reuters, DataStream, and/or FactSet
