You will help the team to evaluate new investment opportunities and monitoring existing portfolio positions. You will also support the analytics and reporting responsibilities for the Middle Market Debt and Alternatives portfolio.YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform Private Equity ('PE') fund investment underwriting and due diligence through participation in fund manager meetings, analysis of fund statements, analysis of fund performance vs benchmarks and analysis of performance risk (volatility, downside deviation, capital loss)
  • Maintain Surveillance of PE fund portfolio through periodic reviews of fund performance relative to internal plan targets and external benchmarks and documentation of updates in funds
  • Work with senior analysts on credit and sector research, due diligence, analysis, and reporting. This may include analysis of company news and financial reports; rating agency actions and reports, Bloomberg data, and Wall Street analysts' reports Develop independent skills and capabilities in these functions.
  • Maintain an assigned portfolio of Public HY credits with respect to evaluating, analyzing, and reporting on each credit's periodic financial reporting, major news releases, investor meetings and calls, rating agency actions, etc
  • Assist in preparing a data package and presentation slides for quarterly sector reviews and support Investment team's reporting needs which would include performance, risk and holdings data from systems
  • Assist the team on projects, other reporting and analytic responsibilities as well as key initiatives for internal development of Private Equity infrastructure
  • Support team in responding to information requests and portfolio analysis to provide portfolio transparency to senior managementYOUR QUALIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor's degree in a business major or related area of study
    • Minimum 2 years of investments or credit research experience
    • Ability to read and understand financial statements
      • Technically proficient with systems and strong capability with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) suite of applications
      • Strong financial modelling skills
      • Excellent verbal and written communications skills with ability to synthesize research and analyses into actionable recommendations
      • Self-starter with strong collaboration skillsPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
        • MBA or equivalent degree or an equivalent combination of education and related experience
          • Working knowledge of Alternative Investment Strategies (Private Equity, Infrastructure, Mezzanine)
          • Previous Corporate Credit Research Experience
          • Understanding of fixed income mathematics
