JOB SUMMARY This position is an In-house legal counsel responsible for programming acquisition matters. This role assists senior Law-Programming attorneys in the overall management of the business and legal affairs with respect to the company's distribution of broadcast signals and cable networks. The scope of responsibilities including drafting agreements and providing legal advice to executives and management. Handle day-to-day regulatory issues, including carriage requirements for television broadcast stations, subscriber notice requirements, etc. MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Work with the Programming Acquisition to negotiate, draft, review and revise retransmission consent contracts for carriage of broadcast television stations and affiliation agreements for cable networks
• Work with Programming Acquisition, Product and Implementation & Compliance to manage launches and other carriage obligations
• Work with senior Law-Programming attorneys to proactively identify and address key legal issues for management
• Prepare summaries and analyses of existing contracts (eg, MFN clauses, carriage requirements)
• Field and answer questions from Programming Acquisition and Product teams concerning contractual compliance, copyright issues, and FCC regulations
• Keep informed of FCC regulations affecting distribution of video programming
• Perform other duties as requested REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
  • Demonstrated legal reasoning and the ability to draft quickly and concisely
  • Ability to support deals involving multiple, highly complex sets of agreements
  • Ability to make decisions and creatively solve problems while working under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time and shift gears as priorities change
  • Ability to work well with a team, including cross-functionally
  • Ability to communicate to senior executives in a clear and straight-forward manner, both orally and in writing
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills Required Education
    • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Top-tier law school preferred. Must be admitted to the Connecticut bar, or eligible for admission as in-house counsel in Connecticut Required Related Work Experience and Number of Years
      • Legal experience, with a focus on complex commercial transactions - 7+
      • Experience in the business, legal and regulatory issues related to the distribution of broadcast and cable network content over various platforms WORKING CONDITIONS
        • Working on-site, in an office environment
