What you'll do
The Global Mobility Specialist is responsible for managing all
aspects of employee mobility within our multinational organization.
This includes coordinating international assignments, managing
immigration processes, providing guidance on tax and compensation
matters, and ensuring compliance with local laws and regulations.
The role requires strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding
of global mobility practices, and the ability to navigate complex
international environments.
- Coordinate international assignments: Manage end-to-end
mobility processes, including assignment planning, employee
selection, and assignment agreement negotiations
- Immigration management: Oversee immigration processes, working
closely with external providers and legal counsel to ensure
compliance with immigration laws and regulations
- Tax and compensation support: Provide guidance to employees on
tax implications, compensation packages, and benefits related to
international assignments
- Accounting: Determine and manage all transactions related to
travel, record journal entries, reconcile all accounting
transactions to the financial statements
- Compliance: Stay up to date with local laws and regulations in
various countries to ensure compliance with immigration,
employment, and tax requirements
- Policy development and implementation: Develop and update
global mobility policies and procedures, ensuring alignment with
company objectives and industry best practices
- Vendor management: Collaborate with external vendors, such as
relocation service providers and tax consultants, to ensure
efficient and effective delivery of global mobility
services
- Employee support: Act as a primary point of contact for
employees on international assignments, addressing inquiries,
providing advice, and offering support throughout the assignment
lifecycle
- Cross-functional collaboration: Partner with HR, legal,
finance, and other relevant departments to ensure a seamless and
integrated approach to global mobility
- Data and reporting: Collect and analyze data related to global
mobility programs, prepare reports, and provide insights to support
decision-making and program improvements
- Stay informed about industry trends: Keep abreast of industry
developments and emerging best practices in global mobility to
enhance program effectiveness and efficiency
What is needed to succeed
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., human resources,
international business) is required
- Proven experience (5+ years) in global mobility, expatriate
management, or a related field, preferably within a multinational
organization
- In-depth knowledge of tax laws and processes across various
countries
- Familiarity with tax and compensation implications of
international assignments
- Excellent knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures as
a result of the travel
- Strong understanding of global mobility policies, best
practices, and industry trends
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact
effectively with employees at all levels, as well as external
vendors and authorities
- Ability to manage multiple assignments simultaneously,
prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced
environment
- Analytical mindset with the ability to collect and analyze data
and generate meaningful insights and reports
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to navigate complex
situations and resolve issues related to global mobility
- Cultural sensitivity and adaptability to work effectively with
diverse populations and in international settings
- Proficiency in relevant software and tools, including HR
information systems and mobility management platforms
