Associate Chemist applies knowledge and skills to perform diverse
and complex laboratory procedures and /or specialized technical,
administrative services requiring application of equivalent
technical knowledge in a quality control laboratory. Also,
responsible for adhering to the Standard Operating Procedures
(SOPs) and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMPs) that are in effect
assuring the quality and quantity of product produced.Key
Responsibilities:
- Performs routine testing on raw material, finished good, and
stability samples according to established in-house or compendial
procedures.
- Capable of independently operating laboratory instruments based
on appropriate procedures. Prepares solutions, suspensions, and
media to perform essential laboratory tasks.
- Records data, performs calculations, evaluates and reports
results. Performs peer review of data and provides critical
analysis of laboratory systems. Keeps management apprised of
progress.
- Maintains and troubleshoots laboratory instruments.
- Participates in designing and conducting investigational
studies of atypical results
- May either handle hazardous waste or supervise individuals who
handle hazardous waste
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices, Good Documentation Practices,
and Data Integrity guidelines
- Openness to learn new instruments methods and
positionsExperience and Education Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or a related science
field or equivalent experience in lieu of degree.
- 1 - 2 years experience in the nutraceutical or pharmaceutical
industry preferred.
- Experience with HPLC or UPLC and testing WSV or FSV
preferred.
- Knowledge of USP compendial methods preferred.
