POSITION TITLE

Credit Risk Analyst

LOCATION

Stamford, CT

This position is available to Connecticut, New Jersey and New York residents as Stamford, CT in-office applicants.

YOUR ROLE

The Credit Risk Analyst is a key role in the Investment Risk Team, the Investment Process and ultimately to our customers, which is why we are looking for people to support the identification, assessment, control, and monitoring of the credit risk in Genworth’s investment portfolios. The Credit Risk Analyst will help in the development, maintenance, and monitoring of credit risk exposure metrics. To perform these tasks the Credit Risk Analyst will manage large data bases using tools like Excel, Bloomberg and R. In collaboration with the investments team, the Credit Risk Analyst will create and monitor investment performance metrics and will perform assessments on external managers.  Strong communication skills are of essence since the Credit Risk Analyst will interact with Credit Analysts, Portfolio Managers and other members of the Enterprise Risk Management framework within Genworth.

YOUR RESPONSIBLITIES

• Support the identification, assessment, control, and monitoring of the credit risk in Genworth’s investment portfolios
• Support the development and implementation on credit risk metrics
• Collaborate with Investments on creating various Performance Metric Reports
• Calculate annual credit loss charges for all asset classes using credit migration data and present results to different audiences.
• Identifies, assesses, and establishes risk management procedures and processes to ensure adherence to policies prudent risk taking.
• Monitors trading and Investments limits and reviews transactions over these limits
• Create & deliver presentations to Senior Management of emerging risks within Investments Portfolio & Genworth as a company.
• Collaborate with other teams in periodical reviews of external managers from an operational and performance perspective
• Monitors the daily credit rating changes on portfolio holdings
• Work closely with multiple teams on ad-hoc projects requests

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Economics, Math, Business, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in credit risk for fixed income and structured products
• Strong quantitative, statistics and analytics skills
• Effective oral and written communication skills
• Strong skills with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and R
 

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Familiarity with Visio, Blackrock Aladdin, Bloomberg, PowerBI & Morningstar preferred

  • CFA and FRM certifications preferred
