In this role, you’ll drive the overall merchandising strategy
for the Herman Miller Retail business across our portfolio of
brands, including Herman Miller, Design Within Reach, HAY, as well
as our ancillary furnishings offer for the global contract market.
You will have financial accountability for these interconnected
businesses, driving and maximizing growth and gross margins. By
providing strategic leadership to the merchandising organization as
well as to key cross-functional partners, you’ll deliver profitable
results in a way that is aligned with our company culture. This
will require an ability to understand and protect the integrity of
our brands while taking thoughtful risks to drive the business
forward. You will have a keen design sense, strong knowledge of the
furnishings market and the ability to use that knowledge to build
an assortment that is on brand, customer focused and profitable.
This position requires a seasoned, strategic leader who will
proactively drive the business through customer insights and
marketplace knowledge. The role may be based in NYC/CT Retail HQ or
our MI corporate HQ.

Partner with Category General Managers, Advanced Design and
Development leadership, Portfolio Leads, and Brand Creative
Directors as a senior leader on the Global Product Team to build
best practices, organizational efficiency, and a strong talent
Continuously evolve the overall assortment to ensure that we are
identifying customer needs and developing or buying products that
are compelling to the customer, differentiated from the
competition, priced appropriately, and enable revenue growth.
Develop and lead a team of direct reports to ensure that the
category-level merchandising strategy is clear and well executed.
You will nurture and grow merchandising and product management
skills across the organization.
Establish merchandise strategies to maximize sales and

products are compelling and brand right and appeal to both existing
and target customers.
Partner with the Chief Design Officer to ensure assortment and
our brands are brought to life online in a compelling way.
Partner with Visual Merchandising Teams to ensure that

product development partners to ensure that we are developing
products that deliver strong margins and top line revenue growth.

A proven ability to deliver measurable financial results.

the Herman Miller Retail brands.
The ability to envision and deliver products that exceed
