Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in environmentally
sustainable waste management solutions in the Northeast U.S., is
seeking a dedicated Rear Load Garbage Truck Driver. As an integral
member of our team, your role involves operating a rear-loading
truck to service our customers in residential and commercial areas,
ensuring safe and efficient waste disposal, while following company
and regulatory guidelines. Operate rear load garbage truck to
collect waste and recyclables from residential and commercial
venues. Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to
ensure operability and safety. Practice safe driving according to
company policy and DOT regulations, maintaining a clean driving
record. Interact courteously with customers and the general public,
addressing their inquiries or concerns professionally. Work in
adherence to route schedules, ensuring timely pick-up and
maximizing productivity. Monitor waste collection process to avoid
spillage or accidents and ensure bin/container return to
appropriate location. Complete required documentation, such as
logs, vehicle repair requests, and incident reports accurately and
timely. Ability to operate rear load and other types of garbage
trucks proficiently. Understanding of safe waste handling and
disposal practices. Physical fitness and strength to perform
demanding duties. Good communication skills for effective
interaction with customers and team members. Basic mechanical
knowledge to identify vehicle malfunctions. Capability to navigate
routes efficiently while complying with traffic and safety
