This position can report into our Stamford, CT office, or can be performed remotely for an appropriately qualified individual.The Senior Technical Lead is a member of the Enterprise Data Services (EDS) team within Global IT Services.In this capacity, the candidate will work across teams of empathetic, autonomy-supported, well-connected, competent, and passionate data analysts, data engineers, data architects, and data scientists to empower the organization with modern enterprise data management and analytics tools, technologies, and workflows.The ideal candidate will be highly empathetic, collaborative, organized, analytical, and be expected to partner effectively with other business and service units.Senior Technical Lead Responsibilities:* Introduce new tools and technologies that will enhance operational efficiency and continuity. Transform business requirements into technical requirements to achieve organizational goals.* Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex technical projects, ensuring maintenance of project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.* Identify and manage risks, dependencies, and blockers that may impact project success, and proactively develop mitigation strategies.* Manage IT project pipelines for EDS. Prioritize initiatives and determine whether projects will be fulfilled by internal company teams or by other suppliers based on Gen Re capacity, skills, and urgency.* Track progress of all technical work streams against project schedules.* Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of solutions based on enterprise business strategy, business capabilities, value streams, business requirements, and enterprise standards.* Identify, drive, and manage proof-of-concepts and application development built around Generative AI services (e.g., Azure Cognitive Search, Azure Forms Recognizer, and Azure OpenAI Service).* Lead technical projects related to enabling business through the Posit professional stack (Posit Workbench, Posit Connect, and Posit Package Manager).* Stay informed about up-and-coming tools and technologies in the Microsoft Azure landscape.* Prepare and maintain documentation for multiple projects. This includes, but is not limited to, design documents, process/data flows, business requirements, specifications, use cases, solution architecture, test plans, and project roadmaps.* Ability to write documentation for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.* Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to align on delivering technical solutions while considering limitations, costs, and risks.* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including security, architecture, legal, and other stakeholders, as necessary, to define project scopes, requirements, and deliverables.* Drive effective communication and collaboration among team members, stakeholders, and senior leadership through project updates and status reports.* Ensure stakeholders understand the short- and long-term goals of the project and business use cases.* Present on technical topics with a variety of stakeholders including senior IT leadership.* Serve as a liaison between business and IT teams. Partner with project leaders on large-scale initiatives to ensure the integrity of objectives is maintained throughout the project lifecycle.* Promote a culture of continuous improvement, adhering to industry best practices, processes, and tools to optimize project management and delivery.* Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and security and architecture requirements throughout the project lifecycle.* Develop roadmaps for the evolution of the enterprise solution portfolio.Role Qualifications and Experience* Minimum 7-10 years of experience working in IT.* Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing IT projects.* Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with tools and technologies in the Microsoft Azure cloud.PMP, agile certification, and/or other similar certifications.* Excellent oral and written communication skills.* Strong technical background in (and experience with) understanding project management practices and techniques in an IT systems development environment.* Strong technical background and understanding of software development methodologies and best practices.* Experience with Azure DevOps or similar project management tools.* Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud and data services (e.g., Data Lake, Databricks, Synapse, Purview, etc.)* Proactive and results-oriented mindset, with a focus on driving projects to completion.* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.* Ability to clearly define project milestones and create timelines around deliverables.* Ability to diplomatically overcome resistance to adoption.* Experience with Actuarial concepts (e.g., claims, pricing), desired* Experience in governing third-party service delivery partners, desired* Experience with the impact of AI tools and technologies in the insurance industry, desiredSalary Range90,000.00 - 151,000.00 USDThe annual base salary range posted represents a broad range of salaries around the U.S. and is subject to many factors including but not limited to credentials, education, experience, geographic location, job responsibilities, performance, skills and/or training.Our AddressGeneral Reinsurance Corporation120 Long Ridge RoadStamford, CT 06902 (US)At General Re Corporation, we celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
