Job Description:

  • Lead the software team that does our Data Development
  • Design and build the next generation of our data platform, including:
    • Data Onboarding
      • ETL pipeline to efficiently and cleanly bring in new data sources
      • Data Quality
        • Detect and mitigate data errors in both historical data sources as well as freshly ingested data
        • Data Catalog and Data Access
          • Systems to help users easily and reliably find and access data
          • Cross-team collaboration on projects
            • With the Data Services team to design and build tools to simplify the data management process
            • With the Database and Platforms team to help--
            • Building and Managing Team of 10-12 developers
              • Hiring energetic and talented team members to expand the team
              • Developing and mentoring existing team members' careers Job Requirements
                • 10 years of relevant industry experience
                • Holistic Vision for Data Systems across the whole company--
                  • Ability to share, evangelize, and evolve the vision
                  • Well versed in the array of big-data open source projects and associated public/private ecosystems
                  • Fluent in Python, Java, and SQL languages
                  • Proven leadership ability proven through experience recruiting, developing, and mentoring a high caliber team
                  • The candidate must have proven experience managing projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing multi-phase/multi-dimensional/multi-resource projects to conclusion while maintaining high customer satisfaction. The role requires an individual who is resourceful, confident under pressure, and has demonstrated skill in both crisis management and expectation management.
