Role Summary/Purpose:

As a Junior API Engineer, you'll be part of an amazing team working on our Java-based API's leveraging cloud technologies.

This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. We're proud to offer you choice and flexibility.

We'll depend on you to:

* Be an active member of a cross-shore development team to design, build, test, and deploy amazing API-based applications for various business capabilities
* Participate in Peer Review
* Participate in Agile scrums with cross-functional teams
* Participate in Agile sprints including story writing, planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions and reviews
* Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root cause and implement fixes
* Work with third party vendors to develop software and/or integrate their software into our products
* Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned

Qualifications/Requirements:

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related degree with modern application development experience (classroom or professional) OR, in lieu of degree, High School Diploma/GED

Desired Characteristics:

* Technical expertise in Java
* Experience with Java Spring Projects are a plus- Spring Boot, Spring Framework, Spring Cloud
* Familiarity with RESTful web services
* Familiarity with source control via Git
* Familiarity with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, BitBucket, and Confluence
* Experience with continuous integration environments utilizing Jenkins and Maven
* Experience writing unit and integration tests and familiarity with frameworks like Junit, Mockito, Spring Test
* Strong desire to develop high quality code with ability to review and leverage quality check tools like Sonar, PMD etc.
* Working knowledge in relational database systems such as Oracle/MySQL or NoSQL database such as Cassandra or MongoDB
* Strong communication skills with technical and non-technical peers
* Strong cross-functional team player with the ability to work seamlessly across a matrix organization
* Desire to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment
* Strong attention to detail in a team environment
* Strong oral and written communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to analyze, use structured problem solving and available tools to troubleshoot systems, identify root cause, action plans, impact and resolution options
* Passionate to learn and understand diversified business domains and technologies
* Ability to quickly learn new technologies and frameworks

Eligibility Requirements:

* You must be 18 years or older


* You must have a high school diploma or equivalent


* You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process


* You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.


* New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post. All internal employees must have at least a "consistently meets expectations" performance rating and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don't meet the time in position or performance requirement).

The salary range for this position is 52,000.00 - 104,000.00 USD Annual

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA and Metro NY and some positions are bonus eligible.
