JOB TITLE: Housekeeping Attendant (PM Shift)

LOCATION: Westchester Country Club, Rye, New York

DEPARTMENT: Housekeeping

COMPENSATION: Non-Exempt (overtime eligible), $15.00-$16.01 per hour commensurate with experience

POSITION OBJECTIVE:

This position is responsible for the overall cleaning and upkeep of Club public areas (indoor and outdoor) in accordance with Club standards.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

- Manage collection of soiled linen as well as re-supply of room attendant closets with fresh linens and room amenities

- Collect trash across various locations and dispose of properly

- Clean and maintain good overall appearance of all public areas (floors, carpets, corridors, furniture, walls, baseboards, ceiling fixtures, and moldings) assuring proper use of appropriate tools and chemicals

- Maintain appropriate inventory levels in various storage areas

- Ensure proper sanitation of bathrooms on regular basis

- Lift and/or move furniture per Member and/or Supervisor request

- Perform additional general cleaning and housekeeping assignments as needed

- Clean Front Entrance, Terraces, windows and other outdoor areas as needed

- Assist with Spring/Fall Cleaning assignments (flipping mattresses, changing filters, etc.) as needed

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS:

- Availability to work a variable PM shift based on business needs and event schedules

- Adhere to all WCC guidelines, policies and procedures

- Carry out all reasonable requests made by Housekeeping Manager and Supervisors

- Ability to carry out job duties with minimal supervision

JOB QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

The following describes the general qualifications and physical, sensory and mental abilities normally associated with performing the essential functions of this position.

EDUCATION, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

- Previous housekeeping experience required

- Must be able to communicate and interact professionally with members and staff in English language

- Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions

- Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service

- Strong communication skills

- Trained in proper chemical handling and Blood Borne Pathogens handling techniques desirable

PHYSICAL, SENSORY AND MOTOR DEMANDS:

- Frequent walking to reach various locations across club property

- Ability to lift, bend, carry, and exert up to 20 lbs. of force

- Ability to lift/transport up to 50 lbs. and push up to 70 lbs.

- Exposure to cleaning chemicals - This position requires working under variable temperature conditions and noise levels, in both indoor and outdoor settings
