Job Description:
BJ's Wholesale Club is looking for a dedicated and experienced
Licensed Optical Manager to lead our Optical Department in
providing exceptional vision care and customer service to our
members. As an experienced retail and healthcare leader, the
Optical Manager will oversee all aspects of our optical operations
within the club settings, ensuring compliance with all regulatory
bodies and BJ’s standards. This role is perfect for a professional
who combines strong leadership skills with expertise in optical
retail and is passionate about delivering superior eye care
solutions. Manage the daily operations of the optical department
including staff scheduling, training, and inventory management.
Ensure the provision of high-quality customer service and adherence
to all optical industry standards and practices. Develop and
implement strategies to improve department performance, customer
satisfaction, and profitability. Conduct regular staff meetings and
in-service training as per industry standards to enhance staff’s
product knowledge and service skills. Interact with vendors to
manage product assortment, stay updated with new product offerings,
and negotiate prices. Monitor inventory levels and perform
adjustments based on sales trends and customer preferences. Work in
conjunction with club management to ensure smooth integration of
optical operations within the overall club policies and procedures.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues to maintain BJ's
reputation for exceptional member care. Strong leadership and team
management skills. Comprehensive knowledge of optical products and
vision care industry. Excellent customer service and communication
skills. Proficiency in managing business operations, including
budgeting and forecasting. Ability to analyze sales data and make
data-driven decisions. Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance 401k Valid state license to practice optometry (as
applicable) Certification from the American Board of Opticianry
(ABO) preferred.
