Job Description Job Description Physician Assistant Job Purpose : At Orthopaedic Specialty Group, Physician Assistants provide outstanding orthopedic outpatient treatment and surgical care. Job Duties : Carries an independent office schedule with MD on premises for support as needed. Includes new patients, new problems, pre- and post-operative care. Responsible for ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests including x-rays, MRIs, etc. Carries out orthopedic procedures such as joint injections, aspirations, casting, splinting, and bracing. Documents patient care via Electronic Medical Records. Responsibly prescribes medication, braces, and other orthopedic devices. Takes an active role in patient education. Contributes to team healthcare approach through quality, detailed work, effective documentation and oral communication. Skills/Qualifications : NCCPA certification and CT License required. Ideal candidate must be able to thrive in fast-paced environment where quality patient care is essential. Orthopedic experience preferred, but will train strong candidate. Must be detail oriented and demonstrate the ability to apply orthopedic concepts. Must be capable of demonstrating professional composure in emergent or stressful situations. References are required.
