Job Description:
Overview:A well-respected hospital in Midtown Manhattan is
seeking 2 experienced Telemetry RNs to support their Med Surg/Tele
unit on a contract basis. Ideal candidates will have strong
clinical judgment, telemetry and critical care experience, and a
commitment to delivering exceptional, evidence-based patient
care.Key Responsibilities:Patient Care:
- Deliver patient-centered care based on current nursing theory
and evidence-based practice
- Assess, plan, and evaluate individualized nursing care
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement
care plans
- Educate patients and families on their treatment and discharge
plans
- Accurately document patient care using electronic medical
records (EMR)Patient Experience:
- Build therapeutic relationships with patients and families
- Communicate with empathy, professionalism, and cultural
sensitivity
- Proactively resolve patient concerns and escalate when
necessary
- Participate in hourly rounding and service excellence
initiativesQuality & Safety:
- Adhere to safety protocols and institutional standards
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and peer
reviews
- Report safety risks or incidents per hospital policyOperations:
- May serve as charge nurse during shifts as needed
- Ensure efficient use of supplies and staff resources
- Support throughput efforts to manage unit
flowRequirements:Experience:
- Minimum 2 years RN experience
- At least 2 years in Telemetry and Critical Care settings
- 1 year of travel experience (only required for travel
RNs)Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Required
- ASN may be considered if actively enrolled in a BSN program and
has strong relevant experienceCertifications:
- Active NY RN license (in good standing)
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Telemetry and Ventilator experience - required
- EPIC experience - strongly preferredUnit Details:
- Average Census: 22 patients
- Unit Size: 24 beds
- Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 1:5Additional Notes:
- Flu vaccination required (in season)
- Weekend availability is required as part of regular
