SCHEDULE: 2PM-10PM or 9AM- 5PMJob SummaryThis position is
responsible for providing education and evaluation to nursing and
patient care staff and facilitates evidenced- based research, with
a focus on Behavioral Health. Collaborates with medical
practitioners to incorporate nursing processes into the plan of
care for a specialized group of patients. Performs direct specialty
nursing services to patients as required, ensuring adherence to
Joint Commission standards and all related policies, procedures,
and guidelines.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvides
educational leadership to patients and care providers to enhance
specialized patient in the Behavioral Health setting.Assists
patients and caregivers with educational needs, problem resolution,
and health management across the continuum of care.Collaborates
with medical providers, patient care staff and unit management in
the planning, implementation, and delivery of education
curricula.Acts as a key resource in the orientation and the
continuing education of nursing personnel and non-nursing personnel
as indicated or requested.Initiates skills development programs
within the parameters of established care models; monitors trends
and implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with
quality standards and parameters.Provides direct specialized
nursing services to an assigned group of patients, providing
specialized patient care within nursing protocols and assisting in
the performance of all related nursing duties.Develops patient care
plans, incorporating evidence-based research and national
standards; consults with and serves as a resource to ensure quality
patient care.Educates technical and patient care staff in the use
of new equipment and supplies and instruments, coordinates in
service training and workshops for appropriate staff.Ensures proper
care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes
continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental
practices.Collaborates with leadership and members of the education
team to develop and implement educational trainings/classes
utilizing evidence-based information, including Crisis Prevention
Training.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Required
Skills/AbilitiesThorough Knowledge and understanding of protocol,
procedures, and standards within area of nursing expertise.Current
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification American Heart Association
required.Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
certification American Heart Association preferred.Ability to
provide operational guidance and leadership to staff in area of
specialty.Knowledge of related accreditation and certification
requirements.Ability to assess educational needs and design and
develop responsible curricula.Working knowledge of the use of
established care models in development of education
programs.Demonstrates a commitment to continued professional
developments.Excellent verbal and written communication skills with
the ability to present effectively to small and large
groups.Ability to work effectively with others and ability to
manage multiple projects.Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate
individual patient care programs.Stong interpersonal skills and
ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team
environment.Experience in education program design and
evaluation.Knowledge and experience in adult education principles.
Hospital experience preferred.Excellent time management skills with
a proven ability to meet deadlines.Strong analytical and problem

act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.Ability to
function well in a high paced and at times stressful
environment.Education And ExperienceGraduate of an accredited
school of Nursing.Master of Science in Nursing or Nursing Education
and/or equivalent combination of education and experience
preferred.Current license to practice as a Registered Professional
Nurse in New York State required.Minimum of three (3) years of
relevant nursing experience in a Behavioral Health setting
required.Three (3) years of experience with orientation and
education of nursing staff in a clinical setting preferred.Sign-On
Bonus**
- About the Sign-On Bonus**: We offer a sign-on bonus as part of
our compensation package to attract top talent to our team.
- Bonus Payment**:If you accept our sign-on bonus, you will
receive your first bonus payment upon the successful completion of
three months employment. Bonus payments will be made in three month
increments, in equal installments over the duration of the sign on
bonus.Depending on the total bonus amount, bonus payments may be
scheduled to be made for up to 12 months, subject to eligible
employment and terms of payment during that time period. You must
be employed at the time of payment to be eligible.
- Tax Withholdings**: Please be aware that bonus payments are
subject to tax withholdings under supplemental income. You should
consult with a tax professional for guidance.
- $10,000 - 4 payments of $2,500 every 6 months over 2 year.Note:
The specific terms of the sign-on bonus may vary based on our
company policies and local employment laws. We will provide full
details in the offer letter for your review and acceptance.
- This sign-on bonus is for newly hired StaffCo employees only.**

starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been
established based on relevant experience. The above salary range
(or hiring range) represents SBEILH's good faith and reasonable
estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of
posting. Your total compensation goes beyond the number in your
paycheck!Prior to start date, the selected candidate must meet the
following requirements:
- Successfully complete pre-employment physical examination and
obtain medical clearance from Stony Brook Eastern Long Island's

- Successfully complete a 4 panel drug screen*
- Meet Regulatory Requirements for pre-employment
screenings.
