Long Island Select Healthcare Inc. (LISH) is a comprehensive network of community health centers under a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) model. We provide Article 16 and 28 clinic services at 8 locations across Suffolk County, New York.LISH is currently searching for an experienced Full Time Medical Receptionist for our Central Islip location. We are seeking a positive, energetic, detail oriented person to manage a variety of responsibilities for this busy health clinic. Applicant must be able to work Full-Time, M-F, from 10am - 6pm. Bilingual in English/Spanish Strongly preferred. General duties include:Greets and Checks In/Checks Out patients.Routine patient and family/aide interaction.Processes new patient registration forms, HIPAA, privacy notice, and demographic change forms.Communicates Sliding Scale policy to patients, requests documentation, and sets up new patients on Sliding ScaleManage high-volume amount of inbound and outbound calls in a timely manner.Answers phone promptly; in a polite and professional mannerDocuments all incoming & outgoing phone calls within the EMRMeet or exceed Quality Assurance Requirements and other key performance metrics.Schedules appointments for patients:Obtains & Enters accurate demographic information into the EMRIdentifies appropriate insurance as needed and re-verifies accordinglySchedules appointments correctly, clearly documenting the reason for the appointmentReviews appointment details with caller prior to hanging upUpdates patient registration/demographic info with new/terminated insurance policies, copay informationMakes reminder phone calls as requestedReschedules appointments when necessaryActs as liaison between patient and Health Center StaffDirects calls to other departments/individuals when neededResolves problems and fulfills requests by clarifying desired information; researches and explores alternative solutions; implements solutions; escalates unresolved problems.Understands when to escalate calls to managementRequirements:2-5 years medical office experience, preferably in a fast paced physician practice/clinic is required for this position.Scheduling Software and EMR experience (eClinicalWorks desirable)Bilingual (Fluent) in English and Spanish is strongly preferredCustomer friendly attitudeAbility and Means to travel between sitesHigh school diploma, General Education Diploma (GED), or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSE) required; College degree preferredBenefitsDepending upon experience, hourly rate of pay for this position ranges from $16.00 to $18.66LISH is a growing organization there is room for growth and movement!2 Weeks Paid Vacation, 10 Sick Days, 3 Personal Days, & 10 Holidays Per YearMedical, Dental & Vision availableShort & Long-Term DisabilityGroup Term LifeEligibility for Student Loan Repayment ProgramsWhy LISH?Our Core Valueshelp us make a difference in our communityLISH is a 2020 Newsday & LIBN Top Workplace!Employee Testimonials:"We see a diverse patient population with different backgrounds and varied ethnicities.
