Job Description:

The Director, Product will own the data pipeline that feeds the Digital IQ and other research products within the Marketing & Communications Practice. They will be responsible for working with leaders across the organization to understand the needs of our stakeholders and clients, gather requirements, maintain existing tools, and prioritize new tools that increase retention and client engagement. They will collaborate and engage on work generated by the scrum/engineering team to ensure the most valuable features and functionality are included in the product. The role provides excellent exposure to a full range of topics important to CMOs; to peers in other business units and practices across Gartner and other CoEs, as well as the opportunity to apply and further develop product management knowledge and data visualization expertise.What you will do:Process Improvement

  • Be a thought partner on how best to update current manual and weighty processes, based on business strategy and priority
  • Identify new ways to efficiently and responsibly make data assets available to clients through our tools
  • Collaborate on trainings/onboardings to ensure content and product documentation is up to date & relevant
  • Manage through all aspects of the product life cycle - from initial user research to testing and release to ensure timely releases
  • Track user engagement with the product and suggest ways to reduce analyst and researcher time spent working with data; continuously suggest product optimizationsProduct Management
    • Take full ownership over Digital Performance Benchmark (DBP) data pipelines, reporting & data delivery
    • Own ongoing feature improvements and scoring updates for the Digital IQ product and all related tools
    • Collaborate with research, advisory and engineering teams to reduce manual QA effort on teams with product/dashboard solutions
    • Understand the inner workings & nuances of our existing products/tools, our proprietary data and our partner data; be able to provide support and suggest features improvements accordingly
    • Manage UAT process for data feature/tool roll-outs
    • Work with key business stakeholders to solidify requirements and priorities, develop a roadmap and ensure timely delivery and acceptance; participate in the Scrum process as well as all Agile ceremonies
    • For new data tools and tool updates: create user stories with detailed requirements and acceptance criteria in Jira.
    • Lead product backlog prioritization with an attention to detail on competing priorities as they relate to business needs. Refine stories to improve aspects of our data integrations & scoring pipeline strategy each sprint.
    • Collaborate to ensure effectiveness of the process and accountability of all stakeholders
    • Establish a positive working relationship with the research, advisory and engineering teams in the US & India
    • Communicate professionally during stressful situations, resolving problems effectively and positively.
    • Foresee issues on projects before they occur and raise risks to appropriate parties; proactively create contingency plans and recommend solutionsMethodology
      • Serve as an expert on our available data sets
      • Work with Analysts and Research team to understand clients' MCPs (mission critical priorities); suggest solutions within our existing data
      • Coordinate with data visualization team to validate data flowing through tools before release
      • Collaborate with the team on nuanced data needs for new and emerging industries
      • Own the methodological accuracy of joining multiple data sets
      • Collaborate with research, advisory and engineering teams to onboard new data sets (internal or external)
      • Lead and promote best practice in design, execution, process & delivery of benchmarking products
      • Work closely with management team and peers to build trust, encourage teamwork and drive the highest impact for data tools, interactives and benchmark researchWhat you will need:

        • The ability to prioritize effectively & communicate with stakeholders at various levelsQualifications:
          • College degree in a related discipline
          • 5-6 years of experience at a leading research / data analytics / BI / consulting firm
          • Experience in quantitative and business analytics and data visualization best practices
          • Expertise with Microsoft Office (Word) and G Suite (Google Docs, Google Sheets)
          • Experience using Project Management tools such as Jira or Asana
          • A willingness to be flexible as product needs and priorities change/evolve over time

A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 116,000 USD - 164,220 USD.
