Job Description:

The Ultra Project and Programme function is responsible for providing the strategy for the planning and execution of all development and production programmes. The function controls programme costs, manages adherence to technical and schedule performance plans. The function manages the risks and opportunities and directly interfaces with customers as required.The Programme Management function in Ultra manages one or more projects and programmes as a group to achieve strategic goals and objectives. The function is accountable for the cumulative performance (to time, quality, cost and/or as-bid Gross Margin) of the projects and of the individuals performing the management of each project.
An individual at this grade leads large teams to input into the plans of the function. Will be responsible for implementing policy and ensuring delivery within area of responsibility, linking with other parts of the function or business.Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides operational direction and support to the SMaP Yaphank, NY location; provides direct supervision of manufacturing and testing operations
  • Coordinates Production teams on manpower planning, scheduling, and resourcing; leads and assists Production Supervisors and Team Leads with hourly personnel resource -loading issues. Consults with Human Resources as needed
  • Experience with EVMs requirements
  • Directs Production operations for schedule attainment and efficiency
  • Performs metric tracking, problem solving and Continuous Improvement activities
  • Maintains compliance to company policies, safety standards, quality specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Active member of Ultra's Environmental Health & Safety team
  • Develops and implement action plans to and address areas of concern
  • Performs all duties as required, requested, or needed
  • Interacts with Engineering, manufacturing and test disciplines as required to ensure that programs are completed on-time and within budget
  • Serves as primary customer interface regarding company site-based programs
  • Responsible for the management, leading and coaching of team members defined as direct reports on the organizational chart
  • Ensure your team understands, demonstrates, and adheres to the Ultra ASPIRE values at all times; providing support or redirection as required
  • Conduct annual appraisals with team members, setting objectives to ensure performance standards are met or improved
  • Conduct regular one-to-one meetings with team members to discuss workload, progress, training and development needs and address performance issues
  • Identify resource requirements and conduct interviews and assessments to ensure effective recruitment and selection processes
  • Identify training and development needs for staff and action training requests as required to expand their skills, aligning their needs with the business strategy and regulatory requirements
  • Encourage the sharing and retention of knowledge and experience within the business through effective mentoring of team members and colleagues
  • Formulate effective succession plans and review regularly to ensure the skills and knowledge required to fulfil key roles are met through continuous training, development and mentoring in line with OSDP requirements.Required Skills:
    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field and 5-10 years of professional experience
    • Experience with risk and opportunity management
    • Experiences with DoD EVMs requirements
    • Solid understanding of program management processes and methodologies
    • Ability to positively represent the company in detailed customer presentations covering operational, programmatic and technical program aspects
    • Ability to travel up to 10% of time primarily to domestic locations
    • Strong communication and writing skills
      • Experience managing product development or production programs
      • Experience with managing subcontracts
      • Advanced degree in business management
