Director Retail Risk - Tech and Data As a Senior Director in
Capital Ones Retail Bank & Premium products division, you will
apply your risk management, tech, and data expertise to the
companys Risk organization. You will partner across Enterprise
Services, Second Line of defense, and Data management teams to
develop and support best-in-class industry risk identification and
mitigation solutions in a manner that supports innovation and
protects our customers, shareholders and associates. Collaboration
with various teams will entail implementation of risk and control
tools, techniques, and frameworks for the Retail Bank organization,
as well as provide Tech and Data risk advisory services to the
first line control owners. Your contributions will drive
organizational change through effective and proactive risk
identification, measurement, analysis and reporting in order to
better manage the companys risk in an open and collaborative
environment.This highly collaborative role will work with various
stakeholders to deliver value-added risk management services to our
Tech and business partners. You will have a high level of exposure
across lines of business and have the opportunity to work with
senior executives to create and implement innovative solutions to
identify and mitigate potential risks to the Company. Proficiency
in building and enhancing effective risk management programs and
frameworks (Such as NIST (National Institute for Standards &
Technology) and DAMA DMBOK (Data and Information Management - Data
Management Body of Knowledge.) are key to success in this role. The
successful candidate will be a professional who understands risk
frameworks, control environments, data management requirements and
functions, and organizations, with strong analytical, planning,
strategic thinking, organizational and first rate communication
skills. This role will report to the Head of Tech, Cyber, Data &
Resiliency Risk within the Retail Bank.Responsibilities:
- Partner with Retail Bank Divisional Data Risk Officer (DDRO)
team and Business teams to strategize, assess, and maintain
compliance with the divisional and enterprise level Data controls
and requirements
- Partner with Retail Bank Tech and Business teams to assess
their compliance with the divisional and enterprise level
Technology controls
- Work with the various partner teams to embed Technology and
data related priorities for Retail Bank
- Lead identification, assessment, monitoring, and reporting on
Data risks inherent to business and technology concepts
- Provide oversight and guidance on key strategic Technology
initiatives and asses impact of these initiatives on the Retail
Bank control environment
- Apply understanding of Data governance processes and controls
to proactively mitigate risks
- Influence control owners and other stakeholders to build
consensus on risk mitigation and remediation strategies
- Provide oversight and guidance on key strategic Tech and Data
initiatives and asses impact on the Retail Bank control
environment
- Provide guidance to ensure mitigation of data risks; support
root cause and containment of data issues for business
processes
- Identify and implement continual program enhancements based on
industry standards and best practices related to Tech risk
management Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree or military experience
- At least 10 years experience in Data Risk or Data governance or
Internal Audit or External Audit
- At least 5 years of People Management experience Preferred
Qualifications:
- Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), Certified in Risk
and Information Systems Control (CRISC), Certified Information
Security Manager (CISM)
- 5+ years experience in performing Control Self Assessments
(CSAs), or completing assessments against established industry risk
frameworks, including: the NIST Framework and DAMA DMBOK
- 5+ years experience performing data analysis in support of
internal risk assessments and control reviews
- Excellent verbal presentation and written communication skills
to confidently interact with the cyber organization and enterprise
stakeholders
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical and critical thinking
skills to effectively respond to shifting priorities, demands and

- $305,100 for Sr. Dir, Cyber Risk & AnalysisCandidates hired to
work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated
with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered
to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in
the candidates offer letter.This role is also eligible to earn
performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash
bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be
