**Vice President, Global Planning - Retail**at Design Within

Retail and make both. **About This Opportunity**As a Vice President
of Global Planning Consumer Retail, you'll manage and lead the
merchandise planning, pricing and allocations of all Miller Knoll
retail consumer brands (Design Within Reach, Herman Miller, Knoll,
HAY, and Fully). You will set the strategic direction for our
global omnichannel Planning organization and establish new
processes to ensure the continued growth, profitability and
expansion of our retail brands. You will be a strategic partner to
our Merchandising organization and Retail leadership team.**What
You'll Do**You'll have opportunities to speak up, solve problems,
lead others, and be an owner every day as you...* Provide
functional expertise as a partner to Buying, Operations, Finance,
Digital, Retail and Marketing to achieve agreed upon financial
targets* Develop and implement strategies to maximize inventory
performance* Lead the Planning team and provide coaching and career
development to all team members* Build on existing planning tools
and introduce new process and tools to look at the business* Help
identify opportunities for new brick and mortar store locations
based on financial data and market demand.* Develop in-season sales
trending, inventory forecasts and margin projections; manage
Open-to-Buy, Inventory and Receipt plans; proactively interfacing
with department leadership as necessary to ensure creation of
accurate, timely, insightful analysis and evolve the reporting
needs of the business.* Ensure integrity of sales, inventory,
markdown and promotional planning.* This leader would implement a
global forecasting process across the Miller Knoll consumer
brands.* Optimize inventory flow to stores to maximize sales and
gross margin in the stores and partnering closely with management
to manage on-going inventory levels* Assess existing process and
implement new systems* Analyze current sales, inventory and margin
trends, market data, benchmarking, as well as historical data to
course correct in-season inventory to maximize margins; focusing
team on action-based results versus simply reporting* Assess impact
of price change; assessing price position relative to top-line and
margin realization in keeping with category positioning across the
globe* Partner with Supply Management to optimize inventory flow
and to plan DC capacityYou might be just who we're looking for if
you have...* A Bachelors degree in Business or related field, MBA
is a plus.* 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in
Planning and Inventory Management, with the majority of that
experience in a merchandise planning and allocation roles for
retail company* Home furnishings and supply chain cross-functional
experience preferred* Global multi-brand omnichannel retail
experience required* Analytical skills with the ability to
proactively identify trends and make decisions accordingly,
effectively translating strategies into financial plans* Excellent
coaching, mentoring, and people development skills* Experience with
change management principles and demonstrated ability to drive and
manage the change process from strategic planning through
implementation and follow-through* The ability to use a broad
business acumen and holistic perspective to see the opportunities
and risks of potential trade-offs* Proficient with P&L
responsibilities and you are profit conscious* The ability to
travel as needed* The ability to perform all essential job
