The R&D Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Manager will work cross functionally to drive the strategic objectives of the R&D organization by supporting all aspects of planning and analysis, including R&D portfolio expense planning and monthly variance analysis. The R&D FP&A Manager will support the FP&A Director as a liaison between the Finance and R&D executive leadership, senior management and operational teams and will support the expansion of the R&D organization.
Responsibilities Include:


  • Partner with functional leads across R&D to assist with the preparation of the department budgets, quarterly forecast updates and long-range planning for the portfolio.
  • Analyze and report monthly results vs. budget/forecast, while identifying risks and opportunities.
  • Develop R&D performance decks to facilitate leadership reviews of budgets and of quarterly results vs. plan.
  • Provide consistent feedback and keep management updated through proactive monitoring of key issues.
  • Assist in partnering with cross-functional leaders to help drive business strategy through ad-hoc modeling and analysis.
  • Support the continued growth of the R&D finance function and capabilities.
  • Assist in supporting other business units, as needed by the FP&A team.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

    About You: Required Education, Skills, and Experience

    • Education: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field; MBA preferred
    • 3+ years of experience in Finance; preferably in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
    • Strong analytical skills, detail-oriented and highly organized
    • Strong working knowledge of financial systems including SAP and Anaplan preferred
    • Strong knowledge of Pharma/Biotech R&D business unit experience
    • Ability to work constructively across functions and build consensus
    • Ability to influence key leaders and stakeholders to make decisions
    • Ability to influence decisions and drive projects
    • Strong interpersonal and business partnering skills
    • Confident presenting to all levels of management
    • Highly motivated, able to work in a fast-paced environment and balance multiple strategic priorities
    • This position will be required to be in office a minimum of 2 days a week.

      The expected salary range for this position is $100,900.00 - $132,500.00. Actual pay will be determined based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
