share your EDSFTG moment?Overview:The Senior Manager of Customs &
Compliance maintains and continuously strengthens controls involved
in the process by which goods enter the United States in
conformance with all U.S. import laws and regulations. The Senior
Manager, Customs & Compliance also protects brand integrity by
verifying supplier compliance with vineyard vines ethical standards
and laws of the United States and the countries where merchandise
is produced.Key Responsibilities:
- Support import/export compliance activities (e.g. Importer of
Record, Valuation, HTS Classification, Country of Origin, Tariff
Preferential Treatment Programs, Record-keeping, etc.) to ensure
custom compliance requirements of reasonable care
- Drives adherence to import regulations to ensure expeditious,
cost-effective supply chain execution
- Support team with researching & providing guidance on HTS
classification, COO, valuation, and other critical import trade
compliance functions
- Executes, reviews and analyzes compliance measurements of the
company
- Formulate ideas and deliver possible compliance improvement and
trade savings opportunities
- Maintains and shares HS library with customs broker
- Collaborates with customs broker to renew import bond
annually
- Collaborates w/Broker to resolve any Custom compliance issues
to include research and guidance
- Partners with internal stakeholders to identify First Sale
(Duty Savings) supplier candidates and then coordinate with outside
attorney to confirm the viability of the candidates
- Spearheads annual First Sale supplier audits. Monitors and
reports duty savings.
- Confirms duty free eligibility of styles to be imported from
Free Trade countries; consults with Sourcing regarding Free Trade
strategies and monitors expiration dates associated with those
programs.
- Develop a C-TPAT program
- Lead broker management with oversight of customs broker(s),
including publishing broker scorecards, KPI's, etc.
- Support day-to-day global trade activities of the
organization
- Research, measure and analyze process improvement
opportunities
- Creates and administers standard operating
proceduresQualifications:
- In depth knowledge of import regulations specific to
classification, valuation, country of origin, free trade, and
recordkeeping related to apparel, accessories and footwear
- Certified Customs Specialist certification required; Licensed
Customs Broker preferred
- Strong analytical/investigative skills and proven work ethic
with desire to do more than is expected
- Self-motivator who can work independently and in small
team/cross functional environments
- Proven ability to think and perform strategically
- Experience with Product Lifecycle Management tools is a
plus
- Proficient with MS Office products including Word, Excel, and
PowerPoint
- Bachelor's degree (BS/BA business/supply chain preferred)
- 5+ years' experience with customs compliance at a specialty
