JOB SUMMARY

The Vice President of Outage Management is responsible for the identification, prioritization and implementation of multi-year strategic roadmap opportunities to optimize and transform our operations with respect to outage handling. This role will lead efforts to identify requirements, build the roadmap and execute programs accordingly. Additionally, this position will lead efforts with business partners cross-organizationally to deliver on the roadmap. This executive will direct a team to ensure successful integration and implementation of several related projects, adjusting project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the business. This role will deliver on meaningful business objectives.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience.

Identify, analyze, evaluate and implement standardized processes and procedures in identified areas of the outage lifecycle.

Ensure processes meet or exceed technical and business requirements. Track and promote productivity and efficiency.

Oversee documentation development on the recommended use of tools, including process flows and reporting.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional leadership to share ideas, best practices and opportunities for business process improvement.

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional leadership to drive programs to fulfill business objectives

Collaborate to prepare/manage operational budgets and variances, conduct return on investment analysis on operational initiatives and track/report on variances.

Direct a team responsible for delivery of programs and projects covering one or more specific functional areas.

Establish program direction, supporting business case and various enterprise-wide high-level project plans.

Manage team to ensure integration of projects and adjusts project scope, timing, and budgets as needed, based on the needs of the business.

Manage contracts providing software development and program management support for project execution.

Prioritize work for Company-wide initiatives and process improvement projects to meet strategic and operating objectives.

Responsible for delivering all projects contained in the project portfolio on time, within budget and meeting the strategic and business requirements.

Build, develop and manage a team in support of department initiatives.

Present regularly to senior leadership from across Charter on program direction and value.

Collaborate on other projects as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Required Skills/Abilities and Knowledge
Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
Excellent management skills leading teams of individual program and project managers
Ability to build high performance teams
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to define key performance indicators/metrics
Ability to effectively analyze and interpret data
Expertise in developing, evaluating and documenting internal controls and processes
Ability to quickly understand complex systems, applications, and business processes and procedures
Deadline-oriented and highly disciplined; can easily/effectively self-manage
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to make effective presentations, possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, and ability to interface with all levels of management
Ability to identify and evaluate business and technology risks, internal controls to mitigate risks, and related opportunities for internal control improvement
Ability to influence internal and external key stakeholders and build consensus
Ability to make decisions and solve problems while working under pressure
Ability to provide leadership and direction to cross-functional and virtual teams with a mixture of direct and dotted-line reporting
Proven mastery of PC skills, Microsoft Word and Excel
Strong business systems skills
Strong working knowledge of all aspects of business operations including sales, customer service, billing, collections and accounting
Demonstrated ability to identify and question assumptions and find creative and effective solutions
Ability to provide leadership and direction to cross-functional teams
Ability to prioritize and organize effectively
Ability to foster teamwork and build a strong culture of collaboration
Ability to serve as a visionary and think strategically
Knowledge of Microsoft PowerPoint, Project, Access Database and Visio

Required Education
Bachelor's degree in Business or Accounting or equivalent experience
