Description of business unit
The Corporate & Treasury Division provides a range of lending products, derivatives and other banking services to major corporations and financial institutions from its offices in Ireland, the UK and the US. The Division's US Branch, has its primary base in Stamford, Connecticut, and smaller offices in New York, Chicago and Irvine, CA.
Bank of Ireland's Leveraged Acquisition Finance team provides senior cash flow debt financing to support the leveraged buy outs (LBO's) of top middle market private equity firms. The Vice President serves as a key team member of the deal team, and will receive significant responsibility, deal experience, and client exposure.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to provide support to the Head of US Portfolio Management, supervising credits and maintaining the highest standards of credit assessment and credit management.
Key Accountabilities
Internal


  • Responsible for handling ten to twenty credits
  • Responsible for certain agented names
  • Responsible for the management of certain criticized loans
  • Owns the transaction review process and responds to any requested transaction amendments, waivers, new money requests and GM exposures.
  • Analyse and supervise company cash flow, working capital conversions, covenants, borrowing base and financial performance against objectives.
  • Responsible for presenting portfolio issues to internal senior management.
  • Responsible for implementation of appropriate processes and procedures to align with regulatory and compliance mandates.

    External

    • Collaborate with execution teams of private equity clients / partners
    • Participate in negotiations on transactions with private equity sponsors / partners
    • Build Bank of Ireland brand in marketplace through professional interaction with private equity sponsor clients as part of the credit review process.

      Essential Qualifications
      4 - 8 years working in a LAF Portfolio environment
      Highly organized with strong attention to detail and comfortable working with multiple task assignments
      Ability to communicate to regulators both federal and state
      Experience in mentoring and leading a professional team
      Essential Skills & Experience
      Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Accounting
      Excellent undergraduate academic record
      Professional interpersonal and communication skills
      Strong analytical skills
      Proficient in all MS Office applications
      Desirable Qualifications, Skills & Experience
      Ability to work independently and with a multi-jurisdictional team.
