Job Description:

Job purpose: -The role of the Associate Director, business analytics and intelligence is to support the investor relations, strategy and finance functions with continuous, regular periodic, and ad-hoc analyses of internal and third-party data. This role is dynamic, fast-paced, highly visible, collaborative, and covers a broad range of strategic topics that are critical to Cara's business. The successful candidate is expected to drive innovation and build business analytics that enable Cara to develop insight-driven strategies and tactics and make evidence-based decisions. The candidate will clearly communicate data insights to a range of internal stakeholders and the Cara leadership team. The candidate is expected to collaborate and build strong relationships with multiple business leaders and members of the Cara executive team.
Duties and responsibilities:

  • Analyze and assess equity analyst models and develop consensus estimates
  • Generate spot and trend analyses of investor holdings in CARA, its competitors, and its peers (long and short)
  • Evaluate stock price performance of CARA, its peers and relevant indices accounting for company and sector specific news as well as macro events
  • Develop and maintain Cara and peer group valuation models based on various methodologies (incl. DCF, multiples, ratios)
  • Analyze Cara's financial valuation through scenario analysis
  • Provide financial budgeting and planning support, including strategic planning
  • Ensure financial analysis related to cash spending
  • Support business development and other strategic initiatives
  • Provide competitive intelligence insights based on third party data analyses
    Qualifications include but not limited to:
    • A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree is required; advanced degree in finance or business preferred
    • At least 5 years of investment or healthcare industry experience in a relevant function
    • Strong financial and modeling background
    • Outstanding data synthesis and visualization skills
    • Excellent communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
    • Be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
    • Investment industry background preferred
    • Healthcare focus preferred
