DISCOVER your opportunity Key purpose of this position is to
create/assist with the creation and execution of the category
strategy for Corporate Legal, Claims and Non-Legal categories,
identify savings opportunities, manage the contracting process and
due diligence required to mitigate AXA XL's financial, regulatory
and reputational risk for legal and non-legal services within the
Global Sourcing and Procurement department. Key Responsibilities
--- Analysis of spend and a detailed understanding of the Legal
supply market(s) globally; develop and implement sourcing and
category strategies which support the business objectives and
leverage the spend
--- Lead supplier selection processes in alignment with business
partners and negotiate contracts up to final authorization
including dispute resolution, approving, and qualifying vendors

--- Knowledge of the Insurance and Claims functions a plus
--- Implement sourcing projects, including RFx, and be accountable
for results
--- Develop and manage supplier relationships, including the
negotiation of commercial contracts, contract performance and
service delivery
--- Identify and communicate best practices and develop benchmarks
that compare internal performance to industry best practice
--- Enable and ensure transparency of spend and drive for an
optimization of efficiency (procedures and cost) in collaboration
with stakeholders
--- Lead and participate in cross-functional teams in procurement
and general projects as well as pro-actively supporting other team
members in their tasks and activities
--- Continuous learning and development of the procurement
knowledge and methodologies driving innovation and continuous
improvement within the procurement function and specifically for
legal and non-legal services
Practice and lead by example the use of common, efficient, ethical
procurement processes & procedures.
--- Educate customers in relevant procurement and contract
management skills and techniques; ensure compliance with
procurement policies, standards and guidelines. Knowledge, Skills
and Abilities --- Deep knowledge of the relevant supply markets
with particular emphasis on Legal and the ability to interpret &
match to business requirements. Knowledge of the Insurance, Claims,
Legal and Non-legal services a plus. -
--- Experience with large P&C insurance company/industry;
claims handling knowledge a plus
--- Proven ability to drive category strategy and setup supplier
selection and management
--- In depth knowledge of Procurement processes and methodologies
including Supplier Relationship Management, Business Partnering and
Category Management, external trends and current best practice
including contract management
--- Knowledge of the international market players, trends and best
practices for Insurance Services procurement -
--- Experience in outsourced Underwriting and Claims handling and
Claims Legal Defense in commercial lines of business a plus
--- Knowledge and experience in Claim Management
--- Business management - particularly legal & contractual aspects
of purchasing
--- Business ethics and corporate governance
--- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
--- Ability to establish strategic direction & develop & implement
sourcing strategies
--- Good interpersonal skills - internal influencing, "selling"
stakeholder management, persuasiveness
--- Multi-lingual capabilities a plus (French, Italian, German)
--- Excellent communications skills in order to interface with
suppliers and internal customers
--- Team player- ability to work in a team environment in order to
deliver strategic goals
--- Global experience in a large multinational / multicultural
organization
--- Expected to have strong procurement experience or the ability
to quickly acquire complex strategic procurement skills
--- Expertise in negotiations with suppliers on agreements which
carry high business impact
--- Excellent analytical, presentation, communication,
interpersonal and influencing skills
--- Action oriented and solution minded team player with high
degree of self-management Requisite Education and Experience /
Minimum Qualifications --- A 4-year degree from an accredited
college or university (BA/BS or equivalent) with emphasis on the
areas of business, economics, finance, procurement or legal or
comparable professional education.
--- At least 5+ years working experience with 3+ years of
experience in similar or adequate role in a either a Procurement
environment or an Insurance Procurement/Claims Vendor Management
