Job Duties:

  • Manages a client solution through scope discovery, gathering data, modeling, internal review, and client approval
  • Provides direction and leadership to the team during solution and design phase when functioning as the core team lead; collaborates with Business Development and Implementation Director on progress and requirements to win and successfully implement deals
  • Identifies and defines the solution strategy based on customer's key pain points and supply chain challenges
  • Provides leadership to complete the data analysis phase, working with all work streams to get a deep understanding of client's business
  • Working with design engineering and other work streams, drives the creation of the design concept that addresses the client's supply chain challenges, business needs and requirements; provides appropriate feedback and "out of the box" thinking
  • Reviews the productivity standards developed by the solutions engineer and LMS SME for all labor functions involved in the deal, identifying opportunities to improve and providing guidance and expertise
  • Reviews and approves the solutions model, ensuring all elements of the cost structure accurately represent the design and processes proposed, and that the operating parameters that drive the scope of the solution are correct
  • Reviews and approves pricing templates, as requested by customer / RFP process
  • Identifies potential economic risks with the pricing structure requested by the client, communicating to the core project team and provides recommendations to mitigate
  • Presents the solution to the executive team, articulating the winning strategy, process, layout and economics; communicates risk points and potential liabilities
  • Creates response documents and attains executive and client approval
  • Accountable for the accuracy and content of the Solutions Design Document
  • Visits client operations to ascertain opportunity scope and develop relationships
  • Creates concept of operations
  • Presents proposed solutions to customers and senior leadership; develops and trains solutions engineers and analysts
  • Participates in the scope confirmation process to identify any changes in scope that could impact the solution design / pricing; leads the team to update appropriately the layout, solution model, and solution design document as necessary
  • When functioning as a core team lead, creates Exhibit A and C - Scope based on the outcome of the scope confirmation process; identifies key operating parameters
  • During implementation phase, provides support to the implementation team, answering questions about scope / design to ensure the implementation is consistent with the original design
  • Other duties as required and assigned Requirements: Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Logistics from a 4 year college or university
    • Minimum 4 years related experience and/or training in a distribution environment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    • Knowledge of mid-level warehousing design
    • Experience in a 3PL environment preferred
    • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma or other process improvement methodology, as well as warehouse operational processes
    • Experience with drafting software (ex. AutoCad)
    • Knowledge of processes as it relates to management systems
    • Knowledge of critical process as it relates to supply chain operations and labor standards
    • Knowledge of P&L statements and basic finance / accounting
    • PC literate with a command of Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manual
    • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
    • Ability to communicate with various levels of the organization as well as various levels of the customer's organization
    • Ability to influence others, work as part of a tem, and act as a catalyst for change
    • Excellent analytical, problem solving, and decision making skills Environment:-- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear. He/she is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. He/she must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision and ability to adjust focus. T he employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicles.He/she is regularly exposed to ambient lighting and temperate climate conditions.
