Job Description - Senior Manager Compliance and Regulatory Affairs (13003343D20201104) Job Description Senior Manager Compliance and Regulatory Affairs ( Job Number: 13003343D20201104 ) DISCOVER your opportunity As a Senior Manager, you will be a senior member of the Compliance and Regulatory Affairs team and will play an integral role in AXA XL's US Insurance Compliance and Regulatory operations within North America. This team is part of AXA XL's Americas Compliance & Regulatory Department, which is a dynamic team that services a wide variety of regulatory and compliance needs for our region and our business partners. What will your essential responsibilities include?

  • Supporting the US insurance underwriters within the Programs, Delegated Underwriting and Surplus Lines businesses regarding general compliance matters, providing compliance support to functional areas and assisting with embedding a compliance culture across the Americas region.
    • Work with the Programs business team and legal representatives to support Programs' business strategy and material transactions that have a regulatory or compliance component
    • Review all regulatory and compliance components of products and/or Programs the Business intends to write or sponsor
    • Work with Compliance Monitoring team to assist on reviews of Programs and excess surplus lines business
    • Partner with Delegated Underwriting Group to ensure that business written comports with compliance standards and applicable regulatory requirements
    • Liaise with regulatory product experts on all products intended to be introduced in the standard market
    • Act as a global resource for the business to assist in explaining how state regulatory requirements affect our global and surplus lines businesses
    • Build effective working relationships with other team members and functions such as with our Legal colleagues. Coordinate and collaborate with the Product Innovation, Programs and Cross-border team liaisons
    • Coordinate with RCS and Admitted product subject matter experts as necessary
    • Review all Cross-border business(excluding Lloyd's) written into the US
    • Prepare regular reports of material issues for senior management
    • Represent the Division and the Group on certain strategic matters before the Trade Association APCIA
      • Develop and maintain positive and effective working relationships within industry trade associations and select state and federal insurance policymakers.
      • Work with our business partners to develop and execute an agreed-upon strategy for select issues and effectively communicate them to regulators and policymakers.
      • Develop expertise in two or three niche emerging areas of regulation and work through our trade associations to further our company's interests . You will report to the Americas Chief Compliance Officer. We're looking for someone who has these abilities and skills:
        • Eight or more years of Commercial Property & Casualty insurance experience in the field of legal compliance, regulatory relations, product development, underwriting or underwriting support. Ideal candidate will have Program experience along with admitted, and Excess and Surplus lines experience.
        • Minimum education requires a College Degree with relevant experience.
        • Ability to communicate effectively with others, both verbally and in writing
        • Team player who takes initiative and is able to work independently
        • Strong analytical skills
        • Able to manage time, meet deadlines and adjust to competing priorities
