Platform EngineerStamford, CT - Hybrid$55-60 per hour6 Month Contract-To-Hire
As the Platform Engineer, you will be responsible for full life cycle support of mission critical platforms that enable reporting, analytics, and engineering needs across the organization. Involved in leading innovative solutions. Passionate commitment to ship quickly and the ability to overcome technical issues in a cooperative environment.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS - 5+ years' experience with cloud-based platform engineering role. - 5+ years' exposure to SQL and non-relational databases. - 5+ years' software development experience (Java Script, TypeScript, Java, Python). - Extensive understanding of code versioning tools such as Git. - Extensive knowledge of Computer Science fundamentals (object-oriented design, data structures and algorithm design, problem solving, and complexity analysis). - Extensive experience with building cloud-based, highly automated, near real time data processing platforms. - Demonstrated strong problem-solving skills, especially in complex systems. - Ability to learn new technologies quickly. - Extensive foundation in "bridging the divide" between software products and the infrastructure that runs it. - Demonstrated in-depth written and verbal communication skills.Extensive analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
RESPONSIBILITIES - Actively and consistently supports all efforts to simplify and enhance the customer experience. - Build and maintain systems, supporting millions of active users, with hundreds of millions of daily API calls. - Develop, modify, enhance, and implement the infrastructure and APIs supporting our family of applications. - Maintain uptime and uphold SLAs for the platform. - Develop the infrastructure architecture strategies, standards, target architectures and roadmaps. - Monitor and troubleshoot platform quality issues. - Mitigate the impact of network, infrastructure, and application outages. - Lead identifying bottlenecks and bugs and devising solutions to these problems. - Lead implementing security and advocate for data governance in the company. - Always keeps an eye towards reducing compute, bandwidth, and storage costs. - Diagnose complex issues and evaluates, recommends as well as execute the best resolution. - Ensure alignment to drive cross-platform consistency. - Contribute ideas to improve the overall platform. - Organize and assign work to the platform engineering team
