Job Description SummaryThis role is responsible for the design
of automated test systems (ATEs), Specialized Test Equipment (STE)
and Environmental Stress Testing Burn In Fixtures (BIF) (hardware &
software) to support development, production testing and test
outsourcing of GE Aviation Electrical Power-Conversion products.
The role involves supporting all test activities from development
phase to transition to production and performing troubleshooting of
test systems and product failures to root cause.
Job DescriptionRoles and Responsibilities
- Designs ATEs, Special Test Equipment, Burn-in Fixtures,
hardware and software on new product development programs and
replacement of existing test systems.
- Specifies Test Equipment required to support new product
development and existing products.
- Troubleshoots Test Failures to component level.
- Provides project oversight on Test development projects from
initial design through qualification and release to production
and/or end customer. This includes generating and maintaining
project schedules, test documentation, and ensuring projects are
accomplished to established budgets.
- Performs analysis of requirements and designs test equipment,
burn-in fixtures, modifies and upgrades same to latest
state-of-the-art for use in our production facility.
- Develops requirements, generates designs, defines/develops test
programs, and documents work on programs involving new concepts and
- Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard test
engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
- Mentors other engineers in conventional test technology and
standard processes and procedures.

- BS in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science with a minimum
of 5 years of experience in a Test Development role developing
automated test systems (ATE's) and Test Fixtures (utilizing COTS
test equipment) to test complex electronic products.

LabWindows/CVI, Visual Basic, GPIB / RS232 interfaces and Microsoft

- MS in Electrical Engineering
- Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated
ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan,
market, and execute programs. Established project management
