Job Description:
Duties and Responsibilities: • Mandatory administrative office
coverage in the Dean’s Office, Fahy Hall B23, Office of Student
Services, Television Studio and other locations as assigned. •
Event Planning/Support – assist with the organization and
preparation of the College and Graduate Studies events. Required
attendance and participation at related events such as
Undergraduate Open Houses (October, November, February, April),
Graduate Open House (February), Pirate Preview (April), Graduate
Commencement (May), Graduate Orientation (August and January),
association conferences and more. Events and dates are subject to
additions and changes, with advance notice. • News, Feature and
Press Release writing – interview and draft copy for multi-level
review. The candidate should be familiar with AP and the University
style guide requirements. Partner with College-level administrators
to suggest ways to integrate content across social media channels.
• Graduate Student Association (GSA) – serve in a student
leadership capacity and support the GSA by drafting pre- and
post-event publicity and assisting with the planning and
implementation of student-centered programming and initiatives. •
Community outreach – brainstorm, research and propose opportunities
to partner with external stakeholders regarding college
initiatives. • Faculty support – assist faculty within the College
with lecture materials, research and other initiatives, as directed
by immediate supervisor. • Other duties as assigned.
Position-Specific Responsibilities • Marketing and Communications –
solicit, moderate, and create original content for monthly Digest
Newsletter that is sent to the College and University community. •
Assists with student support, including brainstorm, research and
propose ideas and resources to support student success. • Website
maintenance management – monitor and update content on the College
microsite and other maintenance as assigned. No prior web
experience is required. Required Qualifications: • Acceptance into
a graduate-level program at Seton Hall University. Applicants must
be new to their graduate program or have at least two years of
coursework remaining. • Understanding and willingness to support
the Seton Hall University Catholic mission. • Maintain 20-hour
on-campus weekly work schedule. Specific schedule is coordinated
with graduate assistant’s supervisor and is subject to change, with
advance notice. On occasion, participation in night and weekend
activities may be required. Desired Qualifications: • Priority will
be given to students accepted into a graduate program within the
College Human Development, Culture, and Media. • Ideal candidates
will have strong initiative, a superior work ethic, work
independently with minimal supervision, ability to work
collaboratively, and excellent oral and written communication
skills. • Professionally represent both the College and Graduate
Studies in all communication, including telephone, in-person, and
