Job Description:
Financial Reporting Manager (Remote or Stamford, CT)We are
currently recruiting for a Remote Financial Reporting Manager. Must
have PRT / Annuities / Life Insurance industry experience and US
statutory accounting - experience. Newly created role due to
growth. This is a great opportunity to join a growing team. 120K+
Base + 15% Target Bonus + Benefits PackageResponsibilities:
- Monitor monthly/quarterly standard reports (i.e reinsurance
settlements, Group disclosures, STAT annual statement schedules,
etc) and challenge movements and accuracy
- Prepare, analyze and explain STAT balance sheet and income
statement movements each quarter and meet with partners quarterly
to review and approve their analysis of change submission
highlighting impacts to surplus and risk-based capital
- Review and analyze IFRS operating income report and incorporate
results into updated analysis workpapers demonstrating variance to
plan
- Coordinate initial draft of quarterly results pack, IFRS Op
Income memo, and reports to be submitted to Group and Auditors
- Prepare and analyze monthly business forecasts for IFRS and SII
valuation basis
- Manage and develop processes and controls to ensure accuracy of
reported information
- Prepare presentations for the Board and other Senior Leadership
Team meetings/conferences
- Coordinate with tax team and compile/analyze tax positions and
movements within financial statements
- Review RBC (Risk Based Capital) calculations and estimates
- Assist team's objectives and readiness for IFRS 17 reporting
effective 1/1/2023
- Assist in drafting and coordinating accounting memo's for new
products, structures, and reinsurance agreements for presentation
to technical review committee
- Coordinate monthly intercompany reconciliations to support
approving settlements
- Responsible for creation and maintenance of trend analysis of
key figures and metrics
- Work closely with senior financial analyst to understand
operating expenses in regards to reforecasting for monthly business
overviews and to support the unit cost analysisRequirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent
- 5-7 years+ of experience in finance/accounting role
- Financial planning and reporting background required
- Experience in pension risk transfer (PRT)/annuities strongly
preferred; individual life insurance/annuities acceptable
- Knowledge of US statutory accounting/RBC required; knowledge of
IFRS or SII preferred
- Knowledge of reinsurance structures and relative accounting
treatments (i.e coinsurance, modified coinsurance, funds withheld,
excess of loss, etc) preferred
- Experience with management reporting, including financial
reporting metrics, and financial controls and processes
- Proven ability in building analytics and models and identify
key drivers
- Familiarity with actuarial concepts & principles
- Flexibility to travel (approx. 10%) No sponsorship. 120K+ Base
