JOB SUMMARY
The Director of Marketing Science is responsible for development and management of marketing analytics, statistical data analyses and targeting segmentation for Customer Relationship Marketing and other key marketing initiatives. Lead direct reports in their efforts to query our enterprise data warehouse, use advanced analytics to identify drivers of consumer behaviors, and communicate findings. This technical role also includes operational responsibility and business process design in support of implementation of models, and deployment of scores into operational systems.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Design, plan and build complex data analytics to provide timely insights on CRM, upsell/engagement and customer retention. Provide leadership to direct reports and cross functional counterparts on how convert these to efficient ongoing processes which feed operational needs.


Lead a team of analysts in developing and managing marketing projects that drive deeper customer knowledge and enhance marketing ROI.

Analyze the predictors of response to Customer Relationship Marketing across various product lines, including video add-ons, internet speed upgrades and mobile phone upgrades.

Build predictive models which leverage demographic data, past customer behavior and geo-demographics to maximize consumer insights and marketing effectiveness.

Create sizing analyses and monitor performance of customers experiencing a lifecycle event associated with increased risk of disconnecting or reducing the suite of products purchased. Identify key target segments, inform intervention tactics, and assess impact to revenue and churn rate from interventions.

Support strategic decisions by other functions in Sales and Marketing through insights related to how various consumer segments use our products, mobile device preferences, and usage of digital or other sales channels when making a purchase.

Work in a collaborative environment with other data scientists, IT professionals, researchers and marketers to implement new targeting approaches at a dynamic telecommunications company.

Interface with department leadership, key stakeholders or operational contacts from other Corporate departments on activities to support special initiatives. Duties to include: segmentation, advanced analytics, action-focused recommendations, lead management and customer behavior tracking.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills/Abilities and Knowledge

Ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets using tools such as: SQL, SAS, R, Python, and Alteryx Requires extensive hands-on expertise in advanced analytics, statistical modeling and querying skills.Experience in identifying process improvements, and efficient execution of multiple projects at once.Effective in managing projects with proven ability to set and meet deadlines while maintaining quality.Demonstrated effective cross functional collaboration and project leadership skillsAbility to analyze and interpret data to make recommendations based on derived insights.Ability to provide direction on analytical tasks needed to support marketing initiatives. Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a clear and straightforward manner. Excellent communications to coach team members and work with cross functional teams.Cable or Telecom industry and experience with billing systems such as ICOMS, CSG strongly preferredEducation
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Economics, Statistics or related discipline

Related Work Experience
12+ years experience in manipulation and analysis of large datasets using SQL, SAS, R, etc. and solid understanding of relational database and data warehouse theory.

8+ years experience with data analytics for marketing, including process /data integration, campaign analysis, and lead management

3+ years of leadership experience including leading teams and end-to-end process management

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Master's Degree is preferred, especially in Statistics, MBA (w/quantitative focus), or Computing

Related Work Experience
Telecommunications industry and/or sales/marketing operational experience strongly preferred.
Experience with enterprise grade RDMBS such as Netezza, Teradata, or Oracle.
