An opportunity has arisen to join the Origination & Execution team at Cubico as an Associate where you will be involved in both solar and wind deals across the USA, while working in a small team to learn from others and develop your career. Given that the deal team is lean, this will be an exciting opportunity with exposure to all parts of the investment process will be significant for this level of position.Key Responsibilities
The candidate will work within the Origination and Execution team at Cubico, gaining exposure to many elements of the deal process and will build up a strong financial modelling, technical, legal and market skillset. The position will be in Austin, Texas, and or Stamford, Connecticut.

  Assist in evaluating investment opportunities across the renewable energy sector, utilizing discounted cash flow and multiples-based analyses
  
• 
  Lead the preparation and on-going management of the financial models used for the acquisition, tax equity and back leverage financing of renewable energy projects based on project- specific characteristics and assumptions
  
• 
  Support in managing the technical and legal due diligence processes and supporting legal documentation negotiations as part of the origination & execution of investments
  
• 
  Initial quantitative and qualitative appraisal of transactions to establish whether sectors and specific deals are worth pursuing
  
• 
  Assist in the preparation of Investment Committee presentations for new opportunities
  
• 
  Research the renewables sector with focus on primary transactions
  
• 
  Understand and track energy market developments across different US states

    Strong academic background
    
  • 
    Experience in Project Finance / Corporate Finance / Accountancy is beneficial

    Financial modelling experience essential - highly proficient in Excel

    Understanding of financial statements - P&L, cash flow and balance sheet
    
  • 
    Entrepreneurial mindset, proactive and flexible
    
  • 
    Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical and quantitative skillset

    Practical and commercial approach

    Ability to manage multiple and shifting priorities
