Job Description:Role Summary/Purpose:Reporting to the VP ALM Manager within the Asset Liability Management team, this role will be supporting initiatives related to Market Risk, Liquidity and Treasury functions. Specific areas of focus include but are not limited to build market risk analytics, liquidity analytics, automation of data and enhance data quality, and support of strategic initiatives that cross multiple functions. The role works closely with Synchrony's Finance and Risk Oversight teams with exposure to senior leadership.This position is remote, where you have the option to work from home. On occasion we may request for you to commute to our nearest office for in person engagement activities such as team meetings, training and culture events. We're proud to offer you choice and flexibility.Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop analytical insights into behavior of various products to manage the balance sheet and related market risks
  • Manage monthly and quarterly balance sheet reporting to MRWG/ALCO around market risk, and valuations of different segments of credit card portfolios, deposit and debt liabilities
  • Collaborate with product owners on developing assumptions and models to predict behavior of various portfolios across different interest rate scenarios
  • Manage Treasury ALM Models including development, performance monitoring and comprehensive analytics, ensure models meet modeling standards
  • Develop presentations for Senior Management and communicate findings and results with appropriate agreed upon action plans
  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assignedQualifications/Requirements:
    • Bachelor's Degree in finance or other related field and at least 5 years of experience in a financial services or banking institution or in lieu of degree, 10 years equivalent experience.
    • At least 3 years of experience Asset/Liability Management, preferably within a bank
    • Proven knowledge and experience of the capital markets
    • Proven quantitative/analytical skills
    • Experience with Microsoft Excel and ALM software packages or equivalent tools to manage and manipulate large quantities of dataDesired Characteristics
      • Demonstrated experience analyzing business data with the ability to distill large amounts of information down to the critical areas of focus
      • Strong communication skills with the ability to prepare clear communication and confidently present meaningful analysis to senior and executive management level.
      • Clear thinker with an ability to think through processes
      • Ability to manage complex processesEligibility Requirements:
        • You must be 18 years or older
        • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent
        • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process
        • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.
        • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles. Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months' time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles. Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 24 months' time in position before they can post.
