Job Description:
This posting covers multiple openings for the position
described. Provide quantitative and data science driven insights and
actionable results that underlie strategic decision making across all
business areas. Initiate and engage in meetings with business partners to
discuss business challenges and establish long-term goals while serving as an
expert representative of data science center of excellence within the
firm. Serve as analytical project lead to spear head innovative quantitative
and advanced analytical solutions to complex business problems by
utilizing a diverse set of traditional and modern statistical predictive
modeling, pattern recognition and machine learning methodologies.
Mentor junior/intern in analytical projects. Serve as instructor of
statistical tool learning series to keep firm wide analytics community
abreast with the latest statistical tools and techniques. Research, develop,
implement, and take ownership of predictive models, independently perform
statistical analyses and "deep dives" into the data, and present and discuss
solutions as a statistics subject matter expert with business partners.
Regularly present at firm wide analytics community forums and lead
periodic discussions on analytical project insights and solutions as well
as on new software and methodologies evaluation findings. Utilize
statistical software such as R, Python, or SAS to develop high-performing
statistical models and algorithms on a variety of high-dimensional datasets
with varying sizes and proportion to outcome variables from various
data sources. Meet with business partners to discuss business
challenges and establish long-term goals. Design innovative analytic solutions
to complex business problems by utilizing a diverse set of statistical
modeling tools. Develop predictive models, conduct research, and
perform statistical analyses and "deep dives" into the data. Present and
discuss solutions with business partners, evaluate new software and
methodologies, and present results to the team. Utilize statistical software
such as R, Python, or SAS to develop statistical models and algorithms on a
variety of datasets with varying sizes and proportion to outcome
variables. Requirements: Master's degree in statistics, mathematics,
bioinformatics or a related analytical field (willing to accept foreign education
equivalent) plus 4 years of experience performing advanced data analytics
or, alternatively, a Doctorate (Ph.D.) degree and no experience.
Also requires: (1) Demonstrated expertise utilizing SAS and R to
conduct data analytics, including predictive analytics and data mining; (2)
Demonstrated expertise performing data extraction, cleaning and analysis from
Excel and raw text files to perform data analytics; (3) Demonstrated
expertise utilizing big data tools to access and extract cloud-based
data;(4) Demonstrated expertise performing data modeling using advanced
statistical techniques such as generalized linear model, mixed effects
model, and Bayesian mixture model on high-dimensional data for applications
in bioinformatics; (5) Demonstrated expertise presenting data
results to technical and non-technical audiences, using PowerPoint, Excel
and data visualization tools to prepare reports; (6) Demonstrated
expertise performing data analytics and analysis in a corporate
environment; and, (7) Demonstrated expertise communicating and working with
non-technical audiences to advise non-technical audiences on statistical
